WEEKLY MESSAGE FROM MHA

Thanks for the Input!

May 06, 2019 By: Bob Atlas

We, the staff of MHA, rely on member input to fulfill our mission advocating for, and helping improve the performance of, Maryland’s hospitals and health systems. Throughout the year, we seek and receive your valuable input. Our multiple councils, task forces and work groups churn through serious issues – quality and safety of care, payment policy, behavioral health, medical liability, and much more.

Our Board Executive Committee – composed of 16 hospital and system executives, five hospital trustees, and two independent people – weighs recommendations from those bodies and from MHA staff members to set the direction for the association.

We also survey member CEOs annually. The results of this year’s survey have just arrived and we’re busy analyzing those responses to see how we can serve you better.

But that’s not all; we routinely call upon individual members to hear concerns that we might not learn about in group discussions. In fact, I’ve visited nearly every hospital in the state (some twice) since I began in March 2018 – driving over 30,000 miles without ever leaving Maryland!

To best represent you, we need your input. I’ll be making the rounds again soon, but you don’t need to wait. Reach out at any time with your thoughts and ideas.

Hope to hear from you soon.
