MHA is the only state hospital association in the U.S. led by hospital trustees. The association's Board of Trustees is composed of the chief elected trustee leader (or his or her designee) from each member organization. The board annually approves the association's budget and elects the Executive Committee members. The Executive Committee of the Board is MHA's highest policymaking body and has the authority for most decisions, activities and functions.
MHA's Policy Councils
Three broad-based policy councils address quality and clinical issues, legislative and regulatory policy, and finance. Occasionally, the Executive Committee convenes task forces to address policy issues or develop association policy on a single critical issue.
