Alison Burrows, MBA, RN, joined the Maryland Healthcare Education Institute in January of 2007. Currently, she serves as Vice President with a focus on leadership development and patient quality and safety. Alison has over 30 years of experience in various progressive clinical and leadership roles. In her present role, she works with the Maryland Healthcare Education Institute, the Maryland Patient Safety Center and the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders to develop educational programming to meet and anticipate the needs of health care providers in the rapidly changing world of health care. The programs are designed to meet the standards for CME and CE for nurses and other allied health specialties through approved providers.
Prior to joining MHEI, Alison was the Director of the Chesapeake Registry Program, an affiliate of The Maryland Hospital Association’s shared services subsidiary PRIME, and was instrumental in the creation and development of the Chesapeake Registry Program.
Her past health care experience includes work at Washington County Hospital (currently Meritus Medical Center).
She currently serves as the Membership Committee Chairperson for the Maryland Organization of Nurse Leaders (MONL), is a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives (AONE), and sits on the board of The Peyton Walker Foundation.
