This week has been another of collaborative thinking at the Association offices in Elkridge.
In addition to visiting three more hospitals (54 more to go!), we hosted a number of meetings where it was clear that working closely with each other and key stakeholders will get us further than on our own.
Friday, we hosted the MHA Corporate Affiliates—a group of 14 like-minded business leaders who are working on quality, safety, legal issues, insurance, and other matters that are critical to our success. It was exciting to see their enthusiasm and hear their ideas as we discussed the AHEAD Model, legislative priorities, health equity, and workforce. Our affiliates are highly supportive of hospitals, health systems, and ways to improve care in Maryland, and we’ll continue to talk with them about ways to further leverage our partnerships.
Then Friday the Group of 8, or G8, hospital leaders came together to collaborate and coordinate a field approach and negotiations regarding the AHEAD Model with the state, the Health Services Cost Review Commission, and the CMS Center for Innovation.
Every time I hear our members speak about their areas of concern, I’m newly enthusiastic about bringing all of your expertise and commitment together to influence a bright path forward for the Model and for the health of every Marylander.
My best,
