President’s Blog: Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities.

Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities.

Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. 101 Training.

Last week MHA hosted over 30 hospital representatives for a half day Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. 101 training. This communication and advocacy campaign unites the field with consistent messages and is aimed at building true hospital champions and third-party advocates across the state.

We have heard from our members about the issues that are top of mind: hospital finances overall, payer denials and pre-authorizations, and increasing costs of physicians/health care workforce.

We want to ensure legislators know the key issues that the field as a whole is facing. In a time when local and national media outlets in our area regularly cover emergency department wait times and hospital staffing and quality, the Healthy Hospitals campaign builds the field’s credibility and visibility. It creates a united front and allows us to be proactive on your behalf.

In case you missed it, here are some tools and resources, including:

  • Checklists for stakeholder visits
  • Ideas for effective engagement
  • Talking points on key topics
  • Opportunities for MHA support and engagement
  • Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. display/exhibit that will travel the state starting in January

Best,
