MHA Launches Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. Brand Campaign ★

“The leadership of the hospital is looking out for the interests of [their community] … and making sure they are well taken care of.”

That is the message Maryland state Delegate Ken Kerr said he would be taking with him after visiting Frederick Health on Wednesday. The visit included tours of the ICU and an innovative Dental Clinic as well as a first-hand experience using a Da Vinci surgical robot that improves patient care and reduces hospital stays.

These hands-on experiences make a difference in showcasing what hospitals do best: care for people—and was the first of two Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. visits that MHA participated in this week.

The second, at a Children’s National facility in Prince George’s County included about a dozen state, federal, and local leaders who similarly got a first-hand look at how a healthy hospital is essential to a healthy community.

These visits are part of a broader campaign MHA is launching this fall and that will be a central part of our advocacy moving into the legislative session in January.

Hospitals are essential. They are there for you. Now, we need you to be there for them.

We are committed to scheduling additional Healthy Hospitals visits leading up to the legislative session. In January, we also will have a traveling physical display that showcases hospitals. The display is available to bring to your hospital. Please reach out to me or our team at mha@mhaonline.org to schedule a Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. visit.

We’re hard at work elevating and celebrating our hospitals, and look forward to seeing you soon!

Best,
