
Elkridge, Md. – On June 10, the Maryland Hospital Association’s (MHA) 61 hospitals and health systems elected new leaders and additions to its Board of Trustees to guide the Association to meet the changing needs of patients, communities, and the state. The new Fiscal Year 2026 slate includes distinguished health care executives from across the state—bringing a wealth of experience and insight to help guide MHA’s mission of advancing health care in Maryland.
The newly elected Chair is Bradley Chambers, Senior Vice President & Chief Operating Officer of the Baltimore Region at MedStar Health. David Maine, M.D., President & CEO of Mercy Medical Center, will serve as Vice Chair. Michele Martz, President of UPMC Western Maryland, has been named Secretary/Treasurer. Together, these leaders represent a strong and forward-looking executive team positioned to support Maryland’s hospitals and health systems through a rapidly evolving health care environment.
Steering the Association’s key policy councils and governing groups are David Maine, M.D., President and CEO of Mercy Health Services, as the Chair of the Council on Clinical & Quality Issues; Kevin Sowers, President of the Johns Hopkins Health System, as the Chair of the Council on Legislative & Regulatory Policy; Mohan Suntha, M.D., President & CEO of the University of Maryland Medical System, as the Chair of the Council on Financial Policy; Victoria Bayless, Chief Executive Officer of Luminis Health, as the Chair of the MHA Political Action Committee; Jeremy Bradford, President and CEO of CalvertHealth, as the new Chair of the Governance Committee; Harsh Trivedi, M.D., President and CEO of Sheppard Pratt Health System, as the Chair of the Compensation Committee.

Kleinhanzl, president & CEO of Frederick Health. “Tom has been a steadfast voice in Maryland’s health care community for decades,” notes Griffith. “Tom had the distinct honor of being the first ever hospital president or CEO to lead our Board of Trustees.”
