Patient’s Bill of Rights

Overview

The Patient’s Bill of Rights guarantees that all hospital patients—whether admitted, in the ER, or outpatient—will receive a copy of the Patient’s Bill of Rights per state law. Below are links to each MHA member hospital’s patient bill of rights.

Information to file a grievance or a complaint about the hospital without the fear of retaliation is included in the hospital’s patient bill of rights page. In addition, you may contact the Maryland Department of Health, The Joint Commission, or the Department of Health and Human Services Office for Civil Rights to file separate grievances.
