Elkridge, Md. – The Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) has announced its Fiscal Year 2027 Board of Trustees, hospital and health system leaders who will help guide the association as it advances policies and initiatives to strengthen health care for all Marylanders.
The MHA Board of Trustees provides strategic leadership for the association and helps guide advocacy, policy development, and initiatives that support Maryland’s nonprofit hospitals and health systems. The FY 2027 Board began its term on July 1.
Bradley Chambers, senior vice president and chief operating officer of the Baltimore Region at MedStar Health, will continue serving as Board chair. Mohan Suntha, M.D., president and CEO of the University of Maryland Medical System, is the Board’s new vice chair, and Michele Martz, president of UPMC Western Maryland, will remain as secretary/treasurer.
Joining the Board this year are Cheryl Cioffi, DNP, president and CEO of Frederick Health; Beau Higginbotham, president and CEO of Ascension Saint Agnes; and Jennifer Nickoles, president and CEO of LifeBridge Health.

Griffith, president and CEO of the Maryland Hospital Association. “As hospitals and their care partners adapt to a rapidly changing health care environment, the expertise, engagement, and collaboration of our Board will help shape the future of health care in Maryland.”
