20-foot Display to Travel State Showcasing Essential Role of Hospitals

Elkridge, Md. – To emphasize hospitals’ essential role in acute care across the state, tomorrow the Maryland Hospital Association (MHA) will launch the Healthy Hospitals. Healthy Communities. campaign in Annapolis.

Maryland hospitals are the backbone of the state’s health and well-being—caring for their communities 24/7/365. MHA is unveiling a striking 20-foot-long, 10-foot-tall traveling exhibit that highlights the critical services Maryland hospitals and health systems provide and showcases their committed employees and community partners.

The exhibit begins with a multi-week stint in the Miller Senate Office Building and will then be hosted at hospitals and community partners throughout the state.

“Maryland hospitals are at the heart of our communities, providing life-saving care to 5 million patients each year and over 110,000 jobs,” says Melony G. Griffith, MHA President & CEO. “We are spreading the word about the significant role hospitals play, going beyond acute care services to care for and heal their communities.”

MHA Board Chair Tom Kleinhanzl, President & CEO of Frederick Health, added: “Hospitals are here to care for people, drive innovation, and uplift our communities. This initiative is a chance to celebrate the committed partners who collaborate with us across the health care continuum to make a difference in every community throughout the state.”
