Know Where to Go

Maryland hospitals are nearly full, and emergency departments are stretched incredibly thin. Hospital caregivers continue to respond to the COVID-19 pandemic and are now facing the start of flu and respiratory illness season—a so-called “tripledemic” that is straining hospital resources.

Maryland hospitals are treating a record number of patients, overflowing emergency departments and pediatric ICUs.

MHA and Maryland hospitals are asking for the public’s support.

Help preserve hospitals limited resources by seeking hospital care only when truly needed. Seek care for less severe illnesses in primary care, urgent care, or via telehealth. You can also help by getting a flu shot, getting boosted against COVID-19, and social distancing when sick.
